World's Cheapest Aakash Tablet PC At Only Rs.2999

The lowest cost  tablet in world launched here in India, and made in India. This tablet called Aakash, developed by IIT Rajasthan and DataWind under the Human Resource ministry of India. The tablet launched by by minister Kapil Sibal, with a price tag of Rs 2,250 which only for student .The Ubislate tablet will be available for under Rs. 2,999 with one year of warranty

       (1)  The Aakash tablet has Android Froyo 2.2 operating system. 

       (2)   7 inch resistive touchscreen with screen resolution of 800x480.
       (3)   Supports Connectivity like WiFi (802.11 a/b/g) and 3G (optional through data card)

       (4)   Tablet Features a HD video Co-Processor and graphic accelerator 
       (5)   Tablet comes with 366 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM.
       (6)    Mini and full USB ports Video out, Headphone jack and Audio 3.5mm jack included 
       (7)    2 Watts of power consumption with solar charging option
      

   Other specifications of Aakash include video-conferencing capabilities, two USB ports and 32GB expandable memory support and 180 minutes of battery power. You can connect it to a data card for 3G or GPRS connectivity. Aakash has a 2 GB in built memory and comes along with a 2 GB MicroSD with support up to 32 GB card. Nimbuzz also announced that the free calls and messaging application will come pre-loaded with the Aakash tablet which weighs is 350 grams. A leather case also included with this tablet PC. 

This tablet release date is not fixed yet but it will be available in market at end of November. The main Disadvantages about this tablet is with its Android 2.2 OS, 366 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM but looking at the price of Rs.2999($35) its worth to buy.

Windows 8 To Support USB 3. It Means Copying HD Movie Will Take 80 Seconds Instead 15 Minutes

In a blog post Microsoft announced that the next version of Windows operating system, Windows 8, will support USB 3 devices. USB 3.0 devices support data transfers at 10x compared to today’s widely used USB 2.0 devices.

In simple words if copying of a HD movie to your USB today takes around 15 minutes then in Windows 8 the same movie can be copied in 80 seconds to an USB 3.0 device.

Angry Birds In Physics Exam Question Paper

Angry Birds are everywhere these days – they are on mobiles, desktops and we saw a Google’s Angry Bird comic. The popularity of Angry Birds has started influencing the education too.

A reddit user posted an image of physics exam question paper, where students have to calculate the angle at which the bird needs to be launched for hitting the pig perfectly. Well solving this problem fetches 7 marks in the exam. Check out the exam question after the break.

Google Broadband At Blazing Speeds–151Mbps Downloads & 92Mbps Uploads

An year ago Google announced Google Fiber, an ambitious broadband service to the users in US that provides data transfers at 1Gbps. After 18 months of announcement, the service is getting rolled out in a small residential neighbourhood affiliated with Stanford University.

One reddit user who lives in that area got access to Google Fiber and he posted the speedtest.net results of the broadband service. The uploads maxed out at 92 Mbps and downloads at 151Mbps. That’s an incredible speed.
